What is Quartz Floors?

Quartz broadcast flooring is a heavy-duty, textured coating system designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments. Colored quartz granules are broadcast into epoxy using a double-broadcast technique to create an exceptionally thick (1/8"+), slip-resistant, and extremely durable surface. This isn't a thin coating—it's a multi-layer broadcast system that builds 5-6x the thickness of flake floors for maximum strength and longevity.

How It Works

Unlike flake systems that use a single broadcast layer, quartz requires two complete coat-and-broadcast cycles. Diamond grinding and first 100% solids epoxy coat with quartz broadcast to full refusal, overnight cure, second epoxy coat and quartz broadcast, overnight cure, then polyaspartic seal coat. Standard installs take 3 days; if moisture testing shows elevated levels, we add a Moisture Vapor Barrier which requires its own overnight cure—making it a 4-day project.

Ideal For

Commercial kitchens and food prep areas
Pool decks, splash pads, and wet areas
Locker rooms, showers, and restrooms
Hospitals and medical facilities
Automotive service bays and mechanic shops
Manufacturing and industrial floors
High-traffic garages with heavy equipment
Schools, daycares, and institutional buildings
Breweries and distilleries

Key Benefits

Superior Slip Resistance

Natural quartz texture maintains grip even on wet, oily, or contaminated surfaces

Antimicrobial & Seamless

No grout lines or seams where bacteria can grow—ideal for food service and healthcare

Extreme Thickness

Double-broadcast technique builds 1/8"+ (125+ mils) vs 20-25 mils for flake systems

Chemical Resistant

Handles pool chemicals, cleaning agents, oils, and industrial solvents

Heavy-Duty Cleaning

Pressure wash, scrub with detergent—designed for frequent heavy sanitization

Custom Traction Control

Texture can be adjusted from smooth decorative to aggressive anti-slip

UV Stable Topcoat

Polyaspartic seal coat resists yellowing and chalking outdoors

Terrazzo Alternative

Achieve the luxury look of terrazzo at a fraction of the cost

Why We Use a Double-Broadcast Technique

Unlike flake systems that use a single broadcast layer, quartz requires two complete coat-and-broadcast cycles. This isn't extra work for its own sake—the double-broadcast creates dramatically more thickness, impact resistance, and longevity for demanding environments.

1

Diamond Grinding

Industrial grinding to remove contaminants and open concrete pores for maximum adhesion

2

Moisture Vapor Barrier (If Required)

When moisture testing shows elevated levels, protecting the system from below. Adds 1 day for cure.

3

First 100% Solids Epoxy + Quartz

High-build epoxy with quartz broadcast to full refusal (complete coverage)

4

Overnight Cure

Allowing proper cure before second application

5

Second 100% Solids Epoxy + Quartz

Full second layer for maximum build and durability—this is what creates 1/8"+ thickness

6

Polyaspartic Seal Coat

UV-stable topcoat for chemical resistance, easy maintenance, and long-term protection

Our Installation Process

1

Diamond Grinding

Industrial diamond grinding to remove contaminants, open concrete pores, and create proper surface profile for maximum adhesion.

2

Moisture Testing

Non-destructive moisture testing to assess concrete conditions. Elevated moisture requires a Moisture Vapor Barrier before proceeding.

3

Moisture Vapor Barrier (If Required)

When testing shows elevated moisture levels, we apply a vapor barrier that protects the system from moisture transmission. Requires overnight cure before proceeding.

4

First Epoxy Coat + Quartz Broadcast

100% solids epoxy base coat with quartz broadcast to full refusal (complete coverage). Concrete must be minimum 28 days cured.

5

Second Epoxy Coat + Quartz Broadcast

After overnight cure, second 100% solids epoxy coat with quartz broadcast to refusal. This double-broadcast creates 1/8"+ thickness.

6

Polyaspartic Topcoat

Commercial-grade UV-stable polyaspartic seal coat for chemical resistance, easy cleaning, and long-term protection.
